TRACK 4

DESCRIPTION
"In a state of Deprivia, the ingredients you Requiria to Survivia are as follows..."
~A story of queer heartache, isolation, and eventual regain~

FUN FACTS
• Strictly in terms of how its stories reflect the current state of my life, this LP probably aged the fastest and the poorest of them all. I'm not especially bothered by this, because I've always thought there's value in capturing The Moment with art (whether that moment be personal or cultural), but it is interesting to note regardless.
• The title "Deprivia" may have been subconsciously influenced by the Coin locker kid album "Discordia".
• A few of the timestamps on the back cover are slightly incorrect, because I designed that before every track was actually finished, and had to use estimates in some places. This is why I've stopped putting timestamps in my tracklist reveals. I cannot truly predict these things.
• TRACK 1 self-interpolates part 3 of an unreleased 4-part suite titled "an angel Rose", which I made in April of 2022 as a gift for a longtime close friend who I had once again fallen in love with. Fitting, because this song itself is about that same person, along with a few others on this album. After I sent her that suite, I was given permission in advance to reuse any of its melodies elsewhere as I saw fit, because although I worried that would make it feel less 'personal', I justified that by pointing out how its reuse would allow me to finish songs faster, and therefore be able to spend more time with her. In hindsight, that was some serious mental gymnastics, but whatever. At the very least, I still have no plans to officially release the original suite. It is really none of your business. Plus, every legendary musician has gotta have That One Song Or Album Which Never Ends Up Being Publicized (Or At Least Not For A Really Long Time). You could think of this as my "Carnival of Light".
• Part of TRACK 2's chorus accidentally interpolates "Comedy" by Bo Burnham, something I only realized after writing it.
• TRACK 4's music video was aesthetically inspired by the music video for "The End Of The World Party" by I See Stars, among other scene-era videos similar to it.
The video itself took a solid month of nonstop work, and even had a Budget, because I somehow still did not already own a green screen, nor did I own a microphone stand, nor did I own a prop microphone, nor had I ever worn makeup. And while this next part didn't contribute to the budget (piracy FTW!), I did also have to upgrade to a later version of Vegas Pro to continue editing, since my copy of 14.0 was totally collapsing under the weight of this thing, although it turned out that I couldn't skip too many versions ahead, because anything later than 18.0 was effectively unusable to me, albeit for reasons I can't quite remember. This was all one hell of an effort to put into a literal shower thought, but I have no regrets.
• The percussion that kicks off TRACK 6 combines a stem from track 6 of the KINREK album "cluster 2" and a stem from track 14 of Grimdark.
Also, the line "and that's all there really is to say on the matter" is a slight misquote of a recurring line in Homestuck.
