FUN FACTS

Fuck the son.'s cover art underwent multiple rounds of censorship before being publicized, all because I was afraid of Showing Too Much Skin when I had only just recently turned 18, complying in advance with an imagined judgment that would've been utterly ridiculous even if it did end up actually existing. Who fucking cares? So here's what an uncensored version would've looked like, alongside a timelapse of the photoshoot:

Also, just for fun, here's a look at some of the individual layers:

• The intended primary meaning of this EP's title is "Fuck the guy I used to be", and the intended secondary meaning is "Fuck hot weather". I think both of these are pretty intuitive, but there was a time where I was slightly concerned that someone might misconstrue the title as having incestuous undertones, which is hilarious considering only 2 and a half years later I would publicly open up about my life-long incest fetish in track 4 of One Hates One, Two Hates Two, Three Makes Forever, scaring off the very prudes I was once so desperate to appease.

• The "Daylight sucks" in TRACK 2's title is referencing "Centuries of Damn" by Death Grips, in which Ride also says "Fuck the sun", much akin to this whole EP's title.

TRACK 4's instrumental is built from a single looped sample of "Troposphere" by Steve Burns. I believe its title quotes an actual YouTube comment I found on some obscure family video. And by "family video", I mean like Some Other Unknown Family's Video, not my family.
